Midlands Inter-County Teams Boys Lightweights: GOLD Girls Lightweights: GOLD Boys Heavyweights: GOLD Girls Heavyweights: GOLD Senior Men: GOLD Senior Women: Silver Girls Lightweight B team: Silver This was our first event with the new management and our teams were smartly decked out in county fleeces. In fairness, there was a low turnout of counties, but our teams still dominated every match. |

Midlands Inter-Counties The Midland Area changed this to an individual event for this year. Unfortunately I can't find all the results, though I do know the medallists include the following: GOLD: Wesley Connor, Benji Connor Bronze: Ben Newbury, Amy Millington, Lottie Millington. If anybody else knows of other medallists from the county (for this event they counted only those living within the county), please let me know. |

Worcestershire Sports Player Of The Year This award, over all sports in the county and selected by the County Sports Partnership, went to a judo player for the first time: Kate Walker. Samurai County Teams Challenge Boys Lightweights: 5 th Girls Lightweights: GOLD Boys Heavyweights: GOLD Girls Heavyweights: GOLD Senior Men: 7 th Senior Women: GOLD Girls Lightweight B team: 5 th Girls Heavyweight B team: Bronze Senior Women B team: Bronze Because the Midland Area were no longer running a county team event, Samurai Judo Club stepped in and ran one instead. It had a tremendous response with nine counties represented, but even so our teams did superbly well, this time decked out in county t-shirts .
BJC Inter-County Teams Junior Boys: 6 th Junior Girls: Bronze Men dan grades: 5 th Men kyu grades: Silver Women: 5 th Junior Girls B team: 7 th For some years now, the BJA rules have allowed players to enter BJC and AJA events, so we had a go at this one. Unfortunately many of our top players were away at the Scottish Open the day before – I had to drive back overnight – and so our teams were comparatively inexperienced, but they still did the county proud. We would like to go back with full teams in 2006, but unfortunately the date of this event next year clashes with the unmissable Bev Teams.
Midlands Inter-Counties GOLD: Tom Walker, Robin Woodward Silver: Kate Walker, Katherine Lloyd Jones, Amy Oertel Bronze: Charis Hancocks, Rosie Tramontana, Amelia Hancocks, Becky Holmes, Annabel Webb, Greg Oertel, Jonathan Grayson, Ben Day, Charlotte Price. Once again the Midland Area opted for an individual event. There was only a low entry but spread out over all eleven counties of the Midlands . Wee finished third overall on the medals table, so our players did well. |
